Year 8 writing workshop

Last Friday, 11th September, Year 8, as part of the theme of ‘Travel Writing’, had a talk from travel writer Enid Astley. After break, Enid also spoke to the children in Year 6.  The children learnt of all her exciting expeditions to the Antarctic and Nepal and Enid shared many stories of adventure, different cultures and meeting many different people.  She told the children how her ‘wanderlust’ started with a holiday on a farm and how she then wanted to learn more about her family’s time in India. Enid encouraged the children to explore as many countries as they can when they are older and reassured them that there are kind people all over the world. Enid was very inspiring and gave our children helpful tips on what makes a good travel writer.
