News from Pre-Prep

National Storytelling Week has been our headline this week as children across Pre-Prep have brought in a very broad selection of story/picture books to share with their class and teachers. Staff from across Barrow Hills visited Pre-Prep classes to read some of their favourite stories and explained why they were so fond of these books. As well as Mrs Dudley, we had some Prep faces including Mr Pretorious (Head of Maths) and Mr Hinds (Director of Teaching and Learning) who had Years 1 and 2 erupting in laughter at the stories he’d brought back from his time living in New Zealand.

We were able to congratulate Ava (Rec), Ethan (1G), Walter (1R) and Arlo (Year 2) in this morning’s whole school assembly as they were awarded ‘Work of the Week’ certificates by our Head Girl and Head Boy. It’s always so heartwarming to see the pride these moments of recognition bring to our younger members here at Barrow Hills.

A week today we look forward to welcoming the children’s Grandparents to our Grandparents’ Afternoon. Refreshments will be served in the Refectory from 2:15pm and the Kindy – Year 2 pupils look forward to performing a new musical number for you in the Chapel at around 2:45pm. Year 8s will then help to escort families to their Grandchild’s classroom where the children will be able to show our visitors their learning environment and some of their work. We can’t wait!

Look out for information in this week’s Bulletin on Mrs Klein’s ‘Build a Bug Hotel’ initiative!

A polite reminder not to allow children to run around at the front of the school unsupervised after they have been collected. There are cars coming onto the site continuously for pick-up times across the school. Thank you for your continued support with this.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend. See you on Monday!
