On Thursday, King Edward’s Witley hosted their annual interactive science lecture. The theme this year was ‘Giants of Georgian Science’.
So many incredible discoveries and inventions were made in the 18th and early 19th centuries – in geology, chemistry, astronomy, botany, medicine, optics, engineering and much, much more – that it became known as ‘The Age of Enlightenment’. Our understanding of and relationship with the world changed forever.
Year 6 were lucky enough to be invited to King Edward’s to meet some of the many Giants of Georgian Science whose work and discoveries laid the foundations for our modern world. A fabulous time was had by all.
