Year 2 have fully embraced World Nursery Rhyme Week this week! They have enjoyed revisiting favourite nursery rhymes and it was wonderful to see how many came flooding back to them when they were exploring nursery rhyme books at the beginning of the week. In English we focused on the rhyme of Humpty Dumpty. The children pretended to be newspaper reporters and had a go at interviewing Humpty Dumpty, asking him some very sensible questions such as “What were you thinking climbing such a high wall?”. They then used the information gathered to write some newspaper articles detailing his egg-straordinary accident! Our art lesson this week was of course dedicated to designing and creating our very own Humpty Dumpty characters. As you can see by the pictures we had some amazing designs, some of which included actual cracks as they really did fall off the wall.
