This week, in Forest School I have challenged the children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, to tie a basic overhand knot. We have practiced tying string around each others fingers and around sticks, with varying degrees of success.
In the coming weeks we will be using the overhand knot and I have asked the children to continue practising at home.
The younger children have been exploring frost and ice in the woods and surrounding areas, cooking meals in the mud kitchen and hiding in the dens.
Please provide appropriate clothing for your child to be outside in during the colder weather. Extra socks, extra layers, hats and gloves are needed for your child to enjoy their time outside fully.
