Children from our youngest to oldest have taken part in various activities and initiatives for Children’s Mental Health Week.
Year 1 loved all the discussions and activities. They have listened to and watched a wide range of stories. They have looked at the various colours our emotions can represent. They have made a class emotion rainbow together. They have drawn amazing faces showing different emotions. Year 1 have been encouraged to taken part in an emotions register every morning when the children come into class. It’s been an extremely beneficial week with mindfulness activities, thoughtful discussion and time to pause and reflect.
Year 4 enjoyed some cosmic yoga, while the fragrant wafts of a rosemary/mint diffuser filled the air.
Throughout the week we have been diffusing essential oils in the classrooms – a mixture of peppermint and rosemary for concentration and lavender and citrus oils for relaxation.
