This week, with the smell of pancakes wafting around the corridors and excited children discussing how many they can eat, I reminded the children of the true meaning of Shrove Tuesday and the start of Lent.
We held pancake races on the field and then moved into the woods, where we discussed our favourite pancake toppings and recreated them on tree stumps, using natural things found on the woodland floor! Kindy children were the most generous with the pancake toppings, adding whole bars of chocolate (fallen branches)!
