With the exciting theatre trip to see ‘Robin Hood’ at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford fast approaching, the Reception children have been talking about theatres and cinemas. They’ve been sharing their experiences of plays and films, describing what it’s like inside a theatre, and discussing how actors dress up to tell stories. We’ve also explored how characters can be ‘goodies’ or ‘baddies’ but are all just people playing a part.
Inspired by these discussions, the children decided to build their very own theatre in the garden. The creativity on display has been wonderful – from carefully designing the set to crafting some extremely comfortable seating arrangements. They even showcased excellent problem-solving skills when more seats were suddenly needed for additional guests.
Well done, Reception.
