Year 2 were very pleased to have a visitor in class this week. In RE they have been learning about ‘Leaders and Teachers’ and what sort of characteristics good leaders and teachers should have.
Reverend Radcliffe very kindly gave up some of his time to come and talk to the children about his role as Chaplain at King Edward’s and Barrow Hills. The children were curious to find out more about what his role involved and asked some very sensible questions to gather information. Reverend Radcliffe spoke about the most important part of his job, caring for people and keeping people happy and safe, qualities that the children had already considered a good leader should have. His favourite part of his job is the fact that he gets to spend time talking and listening to children.
He also left the children with some food for thought…
“no-one knows for what you know until they know that you care for them”
