Year 1 has had such an exciting week. There have been so many amazing activities for the children to enjoy including the Mill Farm visit, the Mobile Planetarium and the fantastic science day.
Many thanks to Mrs Withers for organising the farm visit, to Mr Behan for the Mobile Planetarium, and Miss Tyrrell for co-ordinating the science workshops.
In between all the excitement Year 1 children had the opportunity to learn to sew. This was a Victorian pastime which I was keen for the children to try. They all did extremely well and we all agreed it was quite tricky!
I must mention Joe who sews at home and has brought in some unbelievable examples of his sewing to show the class. I knew Joe was a confident sewer so I started him off on a cross stitch. Not only did he complete the design but he arranged the cross stitch in the shape of a cow – amazing!
