As part of our habitats topic, Year 4 headed on a trip to Pulborough Nature Reserve, an RSPB Wetlands Centre. A chilly, but beautifully sunny morning, the day began with a pond dipping session exploring the micro-climate of the mini-beasts living in a closed pond. So many fascinating facts and incredible predators, with propelling jet streams and impressive hunting success. The afternoon session involved hunting for minibeasts in the woods, looking at them under the microscope and identifying their characteristics. The day culminated in some impressive mini-beast creations collected from the natural environment.
