PSHE

At Barrow Hills we strive to create informed young citizens, interested in the world around them and aware of the need for social and moral responsibility in the community as a whole.

The teaching of Personal Social and Health Education (PSHE) at Barrow Hills embraces questioning and empowers our children to be the best they can be.

The lessons ask the ‘big questions’ surrounding budgeting, debt, political parties, puberty, racism, friendships, health and, more recently, what it means to be British. Our aim is not only to provide facts to our pupils but also to allow reflection and to respect differences. Irrespective of the situation explored, the skills the children are learning really boil down to the key fundamentals: empathy, respect, knowledge and discernment.
