I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my 2 years as Chair of the BHCC.
If you’d like to help create a family community or have ideas for fun activities to raise funds for the school, then please get involved with the Barrow Hills Community Committee (BHCC). This year, despite lockdown, we’ve raised enough funds to upgrade the school theatre lights, buy new hockey goals, purchase art equipment for Pre-Prep and much much more! But this doesn’t happen by magic – we need your help. It’s only a couple of coffee mornings a term to bounce around ideas and help maintain the wonderful experience our children enjoy. From bacon butties to cake sales to fireworks to summer proms – the BHCC is vital to Barrow Hills and it’s YOUR parent association and YOUR school. The children love to see their parents interacting with the teachers and helping out. It’s also a great way to meet other parents.
Please get actively involved. Contact Rachel Barraud at firstname.lastname@example.org or via Classlist to attend the first meeting next term to plan events for the next school year.
There are too many people to thank individually who have helped out this year but I would particularly like to show my appreciation to the committee members who have through thick and thin been there for every event and every fundraising activity. You know who you are! The school is very lucky to have you.
Finally, as Philip mentioned last week, hopefully the bacon buttie stall will be back next term but without one very important person. Gill leaves us this year as her son Jamie moves on to senior school. Gill has been a mainstay of the bacon buttie stall for a number of years, planning, managing, serving. Without her it wouldn’t of been there week upon week feeding us, the children and raising much needed funds. Gill you’ve been a star, thank you.
