News from Middle Prep

As we end this term, it is always a pleasure to see the joy in the children’s faces as they look forward to Father Christmas blessing them with many memories and gifts.  Buttons, our Barrow Hills’ Elf, has been reporting back to him plenty of good behaviour from the children and he promises to be back next year.

As ever, this has been a jam-packed week full of exciting opportunities for the children.  Monday saw the Prep School watch and support our youngest members of the School at their Nativity dress rehearsal.  Older siblings enjoyed watching their younger siblings perform with gusto, performing their lines and songs. I was sitting behind one sibling who kept smiling at their younger sibling the entire performance, and couldn’t resist joining in with a couple of the actions.  I could see that clearly there had been some practising happening at home!  What lovely supportive families and siblings we have.

On Tuesday, we had our annual Christmas Jumper Day and Christmas lunch.  There was a wonderful atmosphere in the School and it was a lovely sight to see the children tucking in happily to their lunch. The background Christmas music played some familiar tunes and giggles and smiles were all around.

On Wednesday, we had the most wonderful Carol Services.  Our well-rehearsed Bridewell Choir sang beautifully and harmoniously and our readers spoke with clarity. The evening service was particularly atmospheric with the Chapel adorned with flickering candles and the acoustics really resonated.

Thursday was extremely busy and was a tale of two halves.  We began the day with our annual House Quiz Final and our congratulations to Kean for winning the cup.  The second half saw us leave for Woking to visit the theatre to watch the Pantomime ‘Peter Pan’.  It is such a wonderful tradition to enjoy a bit of jollity on the stage and there were plenty of smiles and giggles flying around.

And then, we finally made it to Friday.

All that is left to say is have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy making memories with your families.

We look forward to welcoming you back to School in January.

P.S. If you are stuck for ideas for Christmas, please have a look at our stationary list.  The children would be delighted to receive some of these items to help restock their pencil cases!
