Crafting for a Brrr-illiant Cause with Reception

This week, the children have continued their learning all about penguins, inspired by our beautiful book of the week, Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers. The story follows a boy and a penguin on a gentle journey of friendship and kindness, and it has led to lots of lovely discussions about feelings, helping others and looking after animals.

We have been learning about different penguin species, where they live, how they survive in cold habitats and how they keep warm. The children have also been extremely busy creating penguin-themed items in preparation for our Penguin Fundraiser on Friday 23rd. So far, they have made penguin stick puppets, bookmarks, keyrings and clay tea-light holders. The children are so excited and can’t wait to sell their creations to their parents, and hopefully raise enough money to sponsor a penguin.
