Reception and Fred Frog Phonics
We had the most wonderful time celebrating Fred Frog Phonics Day last week.
The children had an absolute blast, and their costumes were fantastic, thank you to all the parents with their support in making it such a special occasion. As we moved around the school, we received so many lovely comments from staff and children about how adorable and enthusiastic the children looked and sounded.
The day was filled with fun phonics activities, including Fred-talking games like ‘Cross the Pond’ and ‘Fred Frog Says’. The children also got creative with Fred Frog crafts, drawing frogs, and enjoying lots of engaging frog-themed stories.
We used non-fiction books to find out about the fascinating life cycle of a frog, and with a little help from David Attenborough, we learned how frogs use their eyes to help them swallow, amazing! There were also plenty of speckled frogs on the log and lots of singing and dancing throughout the day.
What a wonderful day it was. Well done, Reception!
