St.George Slays a Dragon in the Woods!

Welcome back!

23rd April, St. George’s Day, is the date that Saint George died.

The legend of St. George has been changed and adapted over many years, but most mention that he rode into a village on his horse, slayed the dragon and rescued the princess.

We learnt that Saint George’s emblem, that he wore into battle, was a red cross on a white background, known as St. George’s cross. This later became the English flag and is proudly part of our school emblem and can be found at the top of the shield on our uniforms.

We then re-enacted St. George slaying the dragon, rescuing the princess and the villagers cheering him on!
