Our Head and Senior Team work closely with pupils to prepare them for entrance examinations and senior school interviews, ensuring a steady, confident and calm approach. This preparation combines a strong core curriculum with dedicated thinking skills, verbal and non-verbal reasoning, and mock examinations, all supported by detailed, individual feedback for both pupils and their parents on progress and key areas for improvement.

Our results speak for themselves – over the past three years, 98% have successfully gained a place at their first school of choice, with over 40 awarded scholarships.

We work closely with families to ensure that each child progresses to the senior school that best suits their talents, ambitions and character. Our pupils move on with confidence to a wide range of leading independent and boarding schools.

Over the past three years, our most popular destinations have included King Edward’s School Witley, Churcher’s College, St Catherine’s School Bramley, Portsmouth Grammar School, Seaford College, Charterhouse, Cranleigh, and the Royal Grammar School.

For families aspiring to King Edward’s Witley, our Assured Places Programme ensures a seamless pathway all the way through to A-levels.

Scholarships

50% of our leavers gained senior school scholarships and awards in 2024

For many of our pupils, the additional challenge of pursuing a scholarship at 11+ or 13+ provides an opportunity to extend their studies and further develop their passions.

We pride ourselves on knowing our pupils very well, identifying their potential, and encouraging them to excel further. Additional support offered to those aspiring for Scholarships include:

Sports Scholars – extra tuition and training with our coaches, receiving nutritional advice, and developing leadership skills by mentoring younger children during lessons and tournaments.

Drama Scholars – participating in after-school clubs, attending workshops with professional directors and theatre companies, and enjoying additional theatre visits, together with support in preparing for auditions with casting agencies for film and theatre.

Art Scholars – learning to build a portfolio of work, conducting research on various artists, and experimenting with a wide range of media.

Over the last three years, our students have achieved 46 scholarships and awards from prestigious independent senior schools, including King Edward’s Witley, Charterhouse, Churcher’s College, Royal Grammar School Guildford, Seaford College, Ampleforth, and Prior’s Field. 40% were Sport Scholarships and 33% were Academic Scholarships.

Clearly this is not a recap, as some of his classmates are encountering the material for the first time. It has meant that he can throw himself into extracurricular activities (rowing, rock climbing, rock school and jazz band!) and meet new friends rather than focus on academically keeping up.
