Parental Engagement is at the heart of our warm, family-oriented school. We are ‘open door’: tutors are available every day to connect with families. Parents, and grandparents, are invited to participate in open classroom events and consultations. As children progress, we provide half-termly reports to keep families well-informed, fostering strong school-home collaboration.
Where extra support is needed, our Special Educational Needs (SEN) department works dynamically to make the best use of available resources. Pupils taking advantage of our SEN provision show strong progress relative to their starting points, and we consistently attain above national standards in core areas such as English and Maths.
Where appropriate, a Pupil Passport, created by our Head of SEN in collaboration with colleagues, pupils, and parents, outlines the resources and approaches required to ensure inclusion and progression across the curriculum. Most interventions take place within the classroom, but where needed, intensive literacy or numeracy support is provided in small groups.
We provide strong support to our parents. Throughout the year we run workshops and share insights in a wide range of areas, from how our Head of Early Years teaches phonics so effectively, to how the Headteacher maintains order without raising their voice. We will share information on the curriculum, Health and Relationships Education, and senior school applications, keeping you informed and ahead wherever possible.
