Our Parental CommunityWelcome to the Barrow Hills Parents Association

We believe that Barrow Hills is for the whole family and our teachers’ and parents’ close work together is central to children’s success at our School.

Our parents are at the heart of our warm and welcoming community and we’ll regularly invite you into the School to celebrate assemblies, watch performances, and cheer on from the side-lines at sports matches. Many families move to our locality each year and enjoy making connections at Barrow Hills through a wide range of parental activities.

The Barrow Hills Parents Association runs a series of events throughout the year from November Family Fireworks to Quiz Nights and a Summer Party, creating fun and memorable experiences for our Community.

The Parents Association is guided by a constituted committee, and we hope to enable representation from each year group. In 2025–26, our co-Chairs are Graeme and Emma, who organise regular meetings where you can get involved. Our famous ‘bacon butty’ stall runs every Friday morning, offering a friendly place to meet others and connect. All our events are ‘opt-in’ and there is no expectation that any parent or carer must or should donate, attend, or volunteer.

Charity

We support the School’s charitable endeavours by hosting community events such as the Macmillan Coffee Morning and Harvest Festival, involving the whole community in making, bringing, or sharing. Depending on the activity chosen for the Lenten appeal, we often support the children in their projects during that week.

Join us at an Open Morning

The best way to experience what life is like at Barrow Hills is to join us at an Open Morning. You will have the chance to talk to children and teachers about what makes our school such a magical place, and to ask any questions you have about life here.
