24th January 2020
On Friday 24th January, our chefs treated us to a tasting session of haggis, a savoury pudding containing sheep’s heart, liver, and lungs, minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock. We also had vegetarian haggis to try. The dish is considered a national dish of Scotland as a result of Scots poet Robert Burns’ poem Address to a Haggis of 1787 and Burns Night is celebrated on Robert Burns’ birthday tomorrow, 25th January. Our children enjoyed trying something new! Thank you very much to our catering team.
