Spring doesn’t officially start until 20th March, but because of the changes in our ‘typical’ weather, the ‘signs of spring’ are appearing earlier than we’d expect.
So as not to miss them, we have been looking for ‘changes’ in nature this week.
Flowers are the easiest things to spot; snowdrops, daffodils and primroses can all be found. Look closely at the tree branches and you’ll see catkins, blossoms and leaf buds getting ready to burst.
Year 1 saw lots of emerging flowers on their walk around Guildford castle grounds this week.
If you are out and about this weekend, encourage your children to identify these ‘changes in nature’ for you, and remember they’re called catkins, not KitKats!
