Sport For AllSupporting participation at every level
Sport at our School is offered via a comprehensive programme, whether children are discovering a love of physical activity or striving to excel in a chosen discipline. Our inclusive and ambitious sports programme supports participation at every level while nurturing confidence, teamwork and resilience. Our core sports provision includes netball, hockey, cricket, football, rugby (tag and contact), swimming, athletics and adventurous activities. From Year 3 onwards, all pupils take part in regular competitive fixtures, helping them to develop match skills, sportsmanship and a sense of pride in representing the school.
At Barrow Hills, we have outstanding facilities, including several acres of playing fields, a heated swimming pool, a gymnasium and a new AstroTurf pitch. Older pupils benefit from a minimum of four to five hours of sport each week as part of our core curriculum, and strong partnerships, including opportunities through King Edward’s Witley and Bridewell Royal Hospital, extend our sporting offer through specialist coaching, shared fixtures and access to a wider range of competitive experiences. Pupils regularly compete at large-scale events such as the Bryanston, Hoe Bridge and Highfield Hockey Tournaments, with notable successes including our 2025 Bryanston Netball Tournament victory and strong performances in cross-country events.
Sport at Barrow Hills is also about enjoyment and lifelong wellbeing. Whole-school events such as the Bunny Run and Snow Run create memorable experiences for all, while our extensive co-curricular programme offers further opportunities after school, from sports-specific training and yoga, to mountain biking and pony trekking.
