A Roundup of STEM Week 2026!

Our STEM focus on Flora and Fauna sparked some fantastic cross-curricular curiosity across the school. Children took part in a wide range of hands-on experiences, from recreating Leonardo da Vinci’s self-supporting bridges and engineering challenges, to exploring absorbent materials, running exciting science experiments, and even planting our own beanstalks!

We were thrilled to welcome some inspiring visitors too. The Hedgehog Man taught us all about hedgehog conservation, while Mr Middleton delivered a brilliant paramotor workshop. We were also fascinated by our visiting speaker Sacha Dench, who captivated us with her work and journey in making the Flight of the Swans film – an epic migration, (following Swans) across the wilderness of the arctic tundra, enduring injury, braving freezing temperatures, and battling through snow and thunder storms to make it back to the UK.

Across the week, children also enjoyed a conservation competitions, STEM activities at Charterhouse, and we proudly entered a team into the National Science Quiz.

It was a wonderful week of discovery, creativity and problem-solving, and a brilliant reminder of how STEM helps us understand and care for the world around us.
