STEM at Legoland
On Friday, 10th October, Year 6 children, alongside our STEM, Science, and DT Captains from Year 8, enjoyed an exciting and educational visit to Legoland Windsor to support their ongoing work in STEM.
The highlight of the day was a robotics workshop, where pupils designed, built, and coded their own moving LEGO models using SPIKE programming software. They tested and refined their creations through debugging and reprogramming, applying key problem-solving and computational thinking skills.
During the visit, pupils explored the impressive Miniland, home to miniature versions of world-famous landmarks such as Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower, and the NASA Space Centre. This offered the perfect opportunity to discuss real-world engineering, materials, and structural design.
To round off the day, pupils investigated the science of forces first-hand by riding some of the park’s roller coasters—experiencing acceleration, friction, and G-force in action.
It was a thoroughly engaging day that brought science, technology, engineering, and maths to life in a fun and memorable way!
