Reflections with Reception

This week, the children have been deeply engaged in thoughtful discussions about Remembrance. Our book of the week, ‘Ava’s Poppy’, inspired some beautiful poppy artwork and helped the children explore the meaning behind this important time of year.

We enjoyed Mrs. Crisell’s Remembrance Assembly, where the children listened carefully and reflected on the importance of remembering those who served. They were fascinated by the photos and artefacts from the Army, Navy, and Royal Marines, sparking many curious and respectful conversations.

The children also learned about the different coloured poppies people wear and were especially interested to discover that the purple poppy remembers the animals who lost their lives in war.

It has been a week of careful thinking and learning about why remembrance is important.

Well done Reception.
