Block coding made fun in Year 1

This week Year 1 combined their block coding skills learned in the Spring Term with their new project of Physical computing, using Microbit’s to code a machine and deliver an output.

Year 1’s had to code a Microbit to display a number from 1-6 when shook – effectively making a digital dice.

Once coded, the children enjoyed using their dice to challenge each other to a game of snakes and ladders, combining their numeracy skills to count squares.

Wednesday morning was a lot of fun!
