Number spinners in Year 1

This week we have been learning about number lines to twenty.

The children have been exploring ways to estimate numbers on a blank number line, when all they have been given is the number at the start and the number at the end of the line.

The children practised by making their own colourful ‘number spinners’. They enthusiastically twirled the spinners, and worked out where on the number line to put the number their spinner had landed on.

It is lovely to see them using their mathematical knowledge and critical thinking skills.
