Old MacDonald had a Farm… and Kindy Learned the Animals!

It has been another busy week in Kindy.

The children have been rehearsing their songs for Grandparent’s Afternoon. Huge thanks to Mrs Mullins for making such amazing dinosaur headdresses for all the children.

The sound of the week is ‘f’ and the children have loved tracing the sound in beautiful silver sand and have all had a go at writing the sound in their books.

The Book of the Week is ‘The Gruffalo’. What a fabulous book to use as a platform to explore woodland habitats, woodland animals and their characteristics. The children have chipped away at green ice to release woodland animals. They have searched for the Gruffalo pictures in the woods and made animal sounds using musical instruments.

The numbers this week have been 6,7,8,9,and 10. The children have been writing these numbers in sand, with paint and in their books. They have also focused on recognising and making patterns.

The Kindy children have been busy creating a wonderful ‘Old Macdonald’ wall display. Who knew paper plates were so versatile!

Have a lovely weekend!
The Kindy Team.
