Remember Remember the 5th of November in Reception
This week in Reception we have been exploring the theme of fireworks. We have been learning about the story behind Bonfire Night and talking gently about why we celebrate with bonfires and fireworks. The children have enjoyed sharing their own experiences of watching fireworks and have used wonderful descriptive language to talk about their shapes, colours, movements and the sounds they make, from whizzes and bangs to sparkles and crackles.
Our creative activities have been full of colour and imagination. The children have made some beautiful firework artwork, now on display in our classroom. Using paint, glitter and collage materials, they created night skies filled with rockets and bursts of colour. We have also been practising our firework words in writing and moving our bodies like fireworks, dancing, twirling and popping across the room.
It has been a lovely, sparkly week of learning and creativity in Reception.
