Reception Trip to Arundel Wetlands Centre

What a wonderful day we had on our school trip to Arundel Wetlands Centre. The children were absolutely fantastic, so well behaved, full of enthusiasm, and brilliant listeners throughout the day.

There was lots of excitement as we boarded the minibus in the morning. After a quick comfort break, we had some time to play in the park before heading off on a relaxing boat ride through the wetlands. The children loved spotting different plants and animals as we glided through the water.

Next, we took part in a pond dipping session, where we discovered all kinds of fascinating creatures such as water boatmen, shrimps, water lice, and pond skaters. The children worked brilliantly in teams, showing excellent observation skills and curiosity.

We enjoyed a lovely picnic lunch on the decking, listening to the birds and watching ducks and ducklings swim beneath us. It was a peaceful and special moment.

After lunch, we explored the minibeast garden and learned lots about different insects. The day ended with a gentle walk through the centre, stopping at bird hides to spot geese through the reeds. We finished at Pelican Cove where we were all amazed by the magnificent pelicans.

The children were a joy to take out, enthusiastic, polite, and engaged all day long. We had some very sleepy little ones on the minibus ride home, and we hope they all enjoyed a well-earned rest that evening.

We would also like to say a great big thank you to all the staff who made our day so fantastic. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. We are already looking forward to returning again very soon.
