The Police Visit Reception

This week, as part of our learning about people in our community and the important roles they play, we focused on police officers. Our book of the week was ‘Police: Hurrying, Helping, Saving!’, which helped us explore how police officers work to keep people safe.

We were very fortunate to welcome some police officers from Surrey Police, who spoke to the children about their jobs and how they help the community. The children had the exciting opportunity to try on a police hat and jacket, handle real handcuffs, and explore a police car. They enjoyed seeing the flashing lights and hearing the siren, as well as sitting in both the driver’s seat and the back of the vehicle.

The children asked sensible questions to find out more about the role of police officers and thoroughly enjoyed learning first-hand about how they help and protect people in our community. It was a memorable experience for everyone!
