Oliver's Fruit Salad in Reception

It’s been another lovely week in Reception. The children have continued to explore their new surroundings with curiosity and confidence.

This week, our book of the week has been Oliver’s Fruit Salad. During our shared reading sessions, the children have been engaging with the story and exploring the different fruits using their senses. They have been touching, smelling, and tasting the fruits while also learning where they come from around the world.

We also practised our fine motor skills by chopping fruit and making our own fruit salad, just like Oliver in the story. The children were brave and adventurous, trying new fruits and even discovering some they liked.

Some children have been painting and creating colourful pictures of fruit, while others have enjoyed pretending to go on shopping trips to buy fruit. There were even some delicious fruit cupcakes made for a tea party in the role play area.

Well done, Reception.
