Exploring the Wonder of Nature in the Willow Dome With Year 1

The Year 1 children are currently writing a class poem on the theme, ‘The Wonder of Nature’.

On a gloriously sunny, warm Autumn morning, we headed down to the willow dome in the school orchard. We used our senses to think about the wonder of nature around us, and thought about what we could feel, smell and hear. We sat with eyes closed, quietly listening to the birdsong and the breeze in the apple trees, naming what we could hear. The children came up with some lovely ideas to add to our poem for National Poetry Week.
