Year 6 Visit Legoland

Year 6 enjoyed an exciting day at Legoland Windsor yesterday, combining plenty of fun with some fantastic opportunities to put their STEM skills into practice.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the robotics workshop. Working with LEGO SPIKE Essential, the children had to design, build and programme their own robots, testing their ideas and making adjustments when things didn’t quite go to plan. It was a great opportunity for them to see how coding, problem-solving and engineering come together, with plenty of teamwork and healthy competition along the way. A special thank you to Charles, our STEM Captain, for his help and support during the workshop.

Away from the workshop, the children explored Miniland, where they enjoyed spotting familiar landmarks and thinking about the engineering, materials and careful planning that would be needed to create similar structures in the real world.

There was also plenty of excitement on the rides, with many children bravely conquering their fears and discovering that they were more adventurous than they perhaps thought! It was wonderful to see them encouraging one another and celebrating each other’s achievements.
