Loy Krathong Floating Baskets With Year 4
In RE, Year 4 enjoyed learning about Loy Krathong, a traditional Buddhist festival celebrated in Thailand. During the festival, people float decorated baskets on rivers and lakes as a way of showing gratitude to the water and letting go of worries and negative thoughts.
As part of their learning, the children created their own floating baskets using card and tissue paper. They also used straws to represent the candles and incense sticks that are traditionally placed in the baskets. The children were very creative and enjoyed learning about this beautiful festival through a hands-on activity.
