The Drop - Year 8

As part of their Post CE program, Year 8 took part in an orienteering challenge, affectionately known as “The Drop”. They  travelled by minibus to Frensham Great Pond and had to navigate their way back to Barrow Hills, avoiding roads – a walk of approximately 10 miles.

I am delighted to say they all made it back. One group decided to run a bit but sadly their map reading went slightly wrong on Thursley Common so the group who were walking incredibly slowly and with back packs in one shoulder for most of it ended up getting back first!

The Year 8 pupils did say they enjoyed the task and hopefully it is good practise for when they will be on Duke of Edinburgh this time next year.
