Art & STEM

During STEM Week, our Art lessons explored the theme of Flora and Fauna, drawing inspiration from the natural world and from the inspiring film Flight of the Swans, which follows conservationist and adventurer Sacha Dench on her remarkable journey flying alongside migrating swans.

Pupils discussed the incredible migration of the swans and the importance of protecting wildlife and natural habitats. This led to a range of creative activities in the art room. Some children carefully sculpted their own clay swans, focusing on the elegant shapes and curved necks of these beautiful birds, whilst others painted and drew.

It was wonderful to see the classroom filled with imaginative interpretations of wildlife, and the finished swans made a beautiful reminder of how art can help us celebrate and appreciate the natural world.
