Recreating Leonardo da Vinci’s self-supporting bridges

Leonardo da Vinci’s self-supporting bridge (originally designed for rapid military deployment) is a masterclass in structural engineering.

It was the perfect challenge for Years 5 and 6 because it requires equal parts dexterity, teamwork, and a basic grasp of physics.

There was an element of competition about this as the groups were split into houses and eventually, Murtough came out on top with the longest and highest self supporting bridges built in forest school!
