A Busy Week in Kindy

The Kindy children have had an action-packed week full of exciting learning opportunities and experiences. Our Book of the Week was ‘Octopus Shocktopus’, a delightful story about welcoming newcomers and being open to new ideas and suggestions. The Sound of the Week was ‘V,’ which is a very tricky stretchy sound, but the children all did a wonderful job having a go at saying and writing it. In Maths, the focus was on ordinal numbers, and the children enjoyed listening to the story of ‘The Enormous Turnip’ to help them understand and visualise how ordinal numbers are used.

The children also demonstrated fantastic performance skills by helping with Mrs Crisell’s Tuesday Pre-Prep assembly, which was themed ‘Real Superheroes’ in honour of National Nurses Week. Some of the children dressed up as superheroes and real-life superheroes, and they were all amazing, making the assembly even more engaging and enjoyable. To round off the week, the EYFS children had a wonderful visit from Pets on the Green. They met a fantastic selection of animals, including a chameleon, a cockatoo, a bearded dragon, and a guinea pig. The children absolutely loved the opportunity to stroke and interact with such beautiful animals.

Have a lovely weekend.
