Year 2 at Sayers Croft
This Thursday, Year 2 had a wonderful day at Sayers Croft Outdoor Learning Centre, enjoying a hands-on science adventure. Surrounded by woodlands and wildlife, the children spent the day immersed in nature, taking time to explore, observe and study the natural world around them.
During the day, the children took part in pond dipping, stream sweeping and bug hunting in the woodlands, all of which were carefully linked to their current Science learning about habitats, food chains and adaptation.
The Year 2 pupils discussed concepts such as metamorphosis, predators and prey, decomposers, and the different adaptations animals use to survive in their habitats. All of this knowledge certainly impressed our guide. Great Science, Year 2!
