U11 Girls IAPS Hockey Tournament

On Friday 9th October our U11 girls travelled to Bryanston for the regional round of IAPS U11 Hockey competing against 16 other schools.

We found ourselves in a tough pool: Millfield, Chafyn Grove and Dumtpon.

Pool Results were as follows:
Millfield: 1-1 draw
Chafyn Gorve: 2-0 loss
Dumpton: 0-0 draw

These results were not enough to qualify for the cup competition so into the plate we went!

Plate results:
Quarter final vs Perrott Hill: 4-0 win
Semi final vs King’s College Taunton: 3-0 win
Final vs Dumpton: 0-0 draw (3-2 win on shuffles)

The girls were brilliant – in 6 matches we conceded just 3 goals – excellent work from our defence. Our marking in the D was goal side and when attacking we always tried to have a forward ahead of the ball and even on back post when possible! Our short corner routine was clinical with Elodie firing the ball to goal accurately each time.

Well done U11 girls your match play was fantastic and you definitely deserved to win gold in the plate!
