A Busy Week in Kindy
The Kindy children have had another very busy week with a rainforest taking over the classroom.
The children have been busy making parrots, snakes and butterflies for our amazing display and have particularly loved unfolding the painted butterflies to show symmetrical patterns on both sides. There are also some quite scary googly eyes peeping down from the tree branches!
The sound of the week has been ‘a’ and the book of the week has been a wonderful story called ‘Grandad’s Island’, whilst the number of the week has been zero.
The children have played games with beanbags showing first a number then showing zero. It has been wonderful seeing the children having fun and playing games using their emerging maths skills.
We are using maths language and skills every day in the classroom, counting children, counting to 10 to come to the carpet, and counting on fingers when we sing nursery rhymes.
