Captain's Coming!
Playing games is essential for a child’s healthy growth, helping them develop critical life, social and cognitive skills. Playing as a group teaches patience, cooperation and how to follow rules. Playing in the woods offers children a safe space to manage the feelings experienced when winning and losing, to handle frustration with resilience.
For years ‘Fruit Salad’ has been a favourite game in the woods and the younger children have enjoyed getting to grips with the basic rules of the game this week. The older children have been learning new games like ‘Crocodile, Crocodile’ and ‘Captain’s Coming!’, before going off to explore independently.
Please continue to send your child in with appropriate clothing for the changing weather of forest school, arms and legs must be covered at all times.
