Little Seeds, Big Adventures with Kindy
The Kindy children have had another busy week.
They have recalled the sounds l, e, h, sh and r.
They have enjoyed daily counting and number recognition as well as the maths focus for the week which has been ‘capacity’. The children loved using water to fill various containers using the vocabulary; full, half full, empty and half empty.
The book of the week was The Tiny Seed which provided wonderful discussions about seed dispersal and all the different plants, fruit and vegetables that grow in our gardens.
This story has allowed us to explore life cycles and caring for insects and animals. Please see below for the most amazing photo of one of our Kindy children caring for a baby blue tit.
The children enjoyed planting sunflower seeds in their Forest School lesson. They all knew that seeds need sunshine and water in order to grow.
The children have loved learning more facts about The Titanic. We have focused on icebergs and watched big ice cubes float in the water enabling the children to see how much of the ice cube was submerged under the surface of the water.
The children have also made fantastic coral for our sea display using cut up noodles and paper cake cases!
