What a buzzy week we have had in Nursery

In Nursery this week, we are learning all about nature and growing. One of the books we have been looking at is Little Bee where the children explored the life cycle of a bee and learned about the important role bees play in our environment.

This week, we had a very exciting visitor in Nursery; a real life beekeeper! He told us all about bees and how they make honey and the children loved looking at the special equipment and were very curious about how bees live and work together.

We even got to try on his special hood and saw a real honeycomb frame. The best part was tasting the honey! Many of the children were very brave and had a try. We talked about the taste with children describing it as ‘yummy, sweet and sticky’.

What a fun day we have had, helping the children to explore new sensory experiences.
