Hibernation with Pre-Prep
With the change in weather, the children have been putting on extra layers, hats and gloves, to prepare themselves for being outside.
Animals start to prepare for the change in weather, gathering and storing food supplies, adding extra layers to their beds. Some animals take a step further and prepare to hibernate.
Hibernation is when some animals go into a very deep sleep during winter. In the United Kingdom, animals such as hedgehogs, dormice, toads, queen bees and bats hibernate.
We have spent our time in the forest discussing how animals prepare and where they go to hibernate.
