Year 4’s Busy Day Out!
The Year 4 children enjoyed a truly action-packed day last Thursday, filled with both culture and sport. In the morning, the children travelled to Wimbledon to watch a production of The Firework-Maker’s Daughter at the Polka Theatre. This inspiring story of Lila’s adventurous journey to become a true Firework-Maker is the class reading text and forms the basis of our English lessons this half term, making the experience especially meaningful. Despite some traffic delays on the journey, the children had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed the performance, behaving impeccably both on the buses and at the theatre.
After the show, we hopped back on the buses and headed to Woking for the first hockey fixtures of the season. Against strong opposition and very wet conditions, the children showed determination and made some positive first steps to build on in future matches.
A long but rewarding day, and one to be proud of!
