Barrow Hills Christmas Market
This year’s School Christmas Market took place against the welcoming backdrop of our Arts and Crafts building, bringing together families, staff and friends for a day that carried a gentle touch of seasonal magic.
Inside, local makers and artisans filled the space with a wide range of gifts, including botanicals, jewellery, wood carving, paintings, clothing, wool crafts, textiles, and handmade wreaths created from locally sourced, foraged materials. Their stalls offered plenty of thoughtful and distinctive options for early Christmas shopping.
Outdoors, the firepit became a natural gathering point, and the weather brightened just in time for everyone to enjoy some smores. Food stalls served hearty soups, chilli, and cakes, while the Parents’ Association provided teas, coffees, and other tasty treats alongside the raffle. Our staff added their own creative spark: Mrs Wheeler presented a display of her impressive artwork, and Madame Early delighted visitors with her collection of crocheted pieces, including a charming set inspired by Wallace and Gromit.
A warm thank-you goes to the children from the Bridewell Choir, whose singing of Christmas songs and carols brought a festive lift to the day and also to the amazing staff volunteers who gave up their time to help.
It was a day of community, creativity, and a little seasonal magic – an occasion we were proud to host and grateful to share. See you again next year!
