Year 1 Dissect Pansies in the Science Lab

The children had a practical lesson in the Science Lab with Mr Behan. After a discussion about the parts of a plant and their functions, the children were each given a pansy to dissect. First, they carefully freed the roots from the soil, before cutting off the flowers, the stem, and the leaves. They examined each part of the plant using magnifying glasses, and used their observational skills to feed back to the class.
